Cumaru

A very durable type of wood, very similar to Ipe characteristically and in appearance. It produces a faint odour of vanilla and cinnamon that becomes noticeable when the wood is worked. Another way to distinguish it from Ipe is to put a blacklight to the heartwood – it will appear fluorescent.

Cumaru (Dípteryx odoráta)
